Ive decided to reopen my original blog. Hopefully I will be able to continue this for some time and the rest of my career. Looking back at some of the information in the past is mind boggling im going through the same issues still today with smoking bud and getting in solid work regularly. This blog will really go along any route I feel like talking about on a daily basis. My whole career has been defined by goals I would set almost always failing miserable. I finally have come to the conclusion goals are pointless if you truly enjoy something you will play non-stop and most likely exceed any goal you had in mind along with there being zero chance of failure with no goals.

I have been living in Canada for the past 3 months with really poor results prolly up around 10k. This has really put into perspective how important it is to develop good habits. This blog will not be full of stats like in the past with little comments but will be more focused on aspect that I feel other poker players struggle at along with myself.

The past 3 years have been mostly filled with complacency on all levels. The biggest being a year ago when I made the switch to Turbo SnG's from a more HU background. I attribute this to one thing FEAR I have always been extremely fearful in my career no matter what I was playing be it 1k hu sngs or 2 dollar 180s. Fear has a weird way of messing with your head what used to be so simplistic is now ripping your insides. I believe I have always been petrified of failure I believe this has been fed throughout my life beginning with sports into college and now poker. I recently read and fully agree humans are not afraid of failure but we are afraid of success. Ive decided to start trying to improve my game which i imagine is at its low point in my career. Some of the things im working on is watching training videos,getting hem/pokerstove/pokerwiz, reading jared's new mental book, and navigating through the forums for info. I honestly cant wait to start dissecting my game I havent really tried to learn anything new always saying I just click button and poker is ridiculous but, to finally get a mathematical background on the game and current tenancies hopefully will build a fire in my soul that hasnt been there for 3 years.

Just got back from Vegas was a pretty solid trip somehow i spent around 1.8k in 4 days which is pathetic. I played the most live poker I think ive ever played with suprisingly good results I won about 2k between 2/5-5/10 mainly at the bellagio. It would of been around 3-4k but, one night after heavily drinking I had a timing tell and my first night I called an all in on a 478K10 board with AQ against his 42. I saw a couple shows Bellagio's O which was the coolest thing ive ever seen, La Rive which blew hardcore from what lil I remember from that night, and Lance Burton magic show suprisingly wasnt too bad. I had one intresting night my last night where I went to La Rive. I headed to the Wynn a couple hours earlier at the Wynn on the way stopping at each Margrita stand or drink stand ordering a drink. I think i spent around 50-60 by the time I made it to the Wynn. At the Wynn I had trouble getting a waitress to continue to comeback to me so I sat at 1/3 and preceeded to order double margritas. After 3-4 of these I realized I was 15 minutes late to La Rive so I chugged my drink and ran to the show. Considering I got there late they wouldnt let me sit till the first act was over so I went and got another drink at the concession stand I ordered a margritta the lady filled up 3 cups and gave them to me confused I asked did I order 3 and she nodded so I paid her. I finally got to take my seat after about midway through all memmory of the night goes out the window. All I know is I woke up to security knocking on my door and 17 missed calls from my parents trying to get me up for my plane. As I struggled to function I ran to get a cab (leaving several items behind in the room). I then realized I was 500 bucks shorter in my wallet but, suprisingly a bag of pot instead. I made my flight with a few minutes to spare and headed home feeling like death.
Heres the stats for this year according to the scope. Yet agian I am getting no volume probably due to school and getting hooked on college basketball.

Well, originally I was gonna try for SNE but, I highly doubt this will happen mainly cause I dont want to play poker to that extreme. Over the past 20 days ive been playing only a 1-3 hrs a day with averaging 500 day which ive come to realize makes my life so much more fulfilling. I have finished my 3rd session of mental coaching which is starting to help significantly. The main thing im looking to do is improve my MTT skills to the point where I feel comfortable playing live events and high stakes online events. School is going to start up in a week which blows. Below are my goals for 2009.

Goals 2009-
-Play several live events
-Make several final tables online
-make 200-250k online
-purchase a house in Nov-Dec

Well, last couple weeks have been decent. I am having a good last two days up 3k both days. I think that I am gonna prolly be done posting till the end of the year at that point I am going to create a new blog or chart progress in this blog. My goal will be to reach SuperNova Elite which will be a bitch but, I am starting to train for it. I am workingout now, eating healthier, and not partying nearly as much in preparation for a good start.Last week I put in some money on FTP and have been trying to get used to playing there (My stats are on bottom so far). I will do a couple quick updates in December but, for strategy and examples of hands there prolly will be not many. GL everyone

Thursday ended up turning 2k and yesterday 1.5k which is solid because both days were 5-10 game days. It seems I have gone back to my usually playing low low volume and just hanging out wiht friends all day. Hopefully this begins to stop once school gets out for winter break. Today should be intresting im playing at the Chicago Charitable Games which has 100 buck hu sngs live which should be fun. Decided to get some nice rims for my benz so thats another plus for the week. This week has been solid only put in around 9 hrs and up 6k cant really ask for more. I havent played any games today but, hopefully I will get a couple in tonight and turn a nice profit. Will try and put some hands into this blog tonite.

Well, I havent been playing much poker this week prolly 5-6 hrs won about 2k monday and 1.1k today didnt play tuesday and wednesday (1-2 games a day). Tuesday saw Seth Rogers movie about making a porno sucked. Wednesday was tight we played golf (12 holes) for 25 bucks brough a 24 pack and some blunts. We had the course practically to are selfs so it was sick. Just got back from casino for 2 hrs playing 20/40 limit (highest shit they got) made like 350 which isnt bad. It was fun building towers with the chips mainly casue i bought in for like 1.5k. Other then that not much has been going down. If anyone has anyting they want me to start adding to the blog lemme know. So far Nov has been good i got a 2k,1.5k, and 1k days so far. I went moderately deep in the hu mtt but, couldnt bust hook2120 (big douche) in round 5. I made a couple poor decisions this weekend one being calling a reraise all-in for my mtt life wehn im 2nd in chips with 8 left in the 33 180 man turbo. I called with AQ vs his 88 the main reason it was dumb was i got 180 instead of atleast 700 (just plan retarded cause the monster stack i had). Another thing is im done staking for a long time and am solely focusing on putting money away towards a house hopefully after i graduate or a year from now. Heres some hands sadly enough only have a selection of two games.

#1 This was agianst 17c1ty a low sample size good roi profit player. I have played him once but, i dont take notice so only idea i vaguely remember was he is aggresive. So what did I do i raise up an aggresive player with 27 soooted (i like to constantly mix up my play). When I raised I was pretty sure he was calling and I was playing fairly tight so far so I knew if i hit this hand i could possible make him bust. The flop is 268 i can obviously bet here but the pot isnt that large and hes loose so he may call. I then hit two pair on the turn at this point I am putting him on air 95% of the time especially from past hands he then bets into me. I decide hes prolly on a flush draw or hit a straight draw and repop then he goes all in this remotely confused me but, im not gonna fold to somone with his aggression and he turned over a straight draw and missed.

#2 This was agianst Wedlowjones a player I have respect for. I believe this was the first game ive ever played him. Before this hand play was relatively tight I believe he bluffed me a couple times that I noticed but, didnt want to take a stab cause it wasnt necessary. I raised 60 with A 10 offsuit he called im originally putting him on a QK -J10. The flop is 328 I bet the flop which i do 90% of the time and instantly wedlow reraises at this point I feel like wedlow is doing this with air a lot because he knows ive been playing tight and most likely have two overs so I decide to push putting him on two unders or some sort of draw. He turns over the open ender straight draw andI get lucky and hold.

Well, this week has been meh monday pulled 900 playing poor, tuesday blew 1.7k mainly cause of stupidacy 30/60 fixed limit 9 man, and yesterday pulled in 3.5k with the luck of finding a donk who wouldnt commit to losing money beat him in a 200-300-500-1k.

I am begining to work on 9 man sngs I feel these are great to boost fpps and if I can get to the point where im comfortable grinding 8+ 100+ 9 mans ill rake in fpps and possible have a shot at nova-elite next year. Recently I have tried a couple 4 mans 2-2 with a 350 profit but, definitely should of been 1.5k but, a fair ammount of suckouts. Another thing is over the next week im looking to play in some wsop circuit events at teh horsehoe in Indaina if anyone is gonna be out there feel free to hit me up (I need someone to drink with none of my friends wanan go).

I really dont have any hands off the top of my head except for 2 i posted on 2 + 2 forum. Sorry for how clustered it is not sure why I copied and pasted from 2 + 2.

My thought process was he raised everyhand I like gapped and connectors a lot so i repopped pre looking to c/bet any flop. On the flop when he called I knew he didnt have a 7 or any pair because he would of reraised easily but, he could of had a 2 pair when the turn hit i felt it was a good card. I checked confident I had the best hand or I could represent the best hand. He then bet out I felt he was a definitely on a draw it was a question if my high card was higher then his and if he was able to lay down his draw. I then elected to reraising confident i had the better hand at the time

Heres another this was agianst a fairly aggresive player he bet every A even oop. I elected to check the flop I hit the 7 so i bet out he reraise me at this point I feel he would call with a 8 so i put him on a draw or air (which i caught him numerous times on). The turn comes a 5 I feel this is a ok card but not great he fires agian and i elect to call based on the fact that he may of hit a straight but i highly doubt it then turn is a 10 this is a horrible card till he bets 840 which I think he wouldnt do if he hit a 10. He may very well had a str8 on the turn but I still elect to call becasue this looks like air more then a straight.

As for my blog I am gonna start posting some atleast once a week and maybe ill add some strategy for a change. Couple new things are ive been playing several mtts (3 1k+ wins last week)/Hu cash (limit/nl) and some 7 card stud cash games all with pretty significant sucess last 2 weeks whcih is sweet. Been on a tear in hu sngs as well this month but, just cant find myself capable of putting in much time due to school/drinking/smoking. Over the past 3 days I have been haunted by horrific calls on my part. This has mostly been top pair high kicker situations where I have even stated what the guys had mulitple times and just cant seem to lay down the hand. I have even had trouble laying down mid pair at times lately. This is pretty horrific on my part and I believe is directly related to me becoming bored with poker relatively quickly. I have only been playing under 10 games lately with the exception of a 30 game day last week (3.5k profit). This is a on-going problem ive had for multiple weeks I get bored with the game and only play 1-4 hours. I have been trying to find a solution possible by playin other forms of poker or even taking a break from poker all together. Im sure ill struggle throughout with my vegas trip coming up in a week ill get a much needed break.

Recently results have been solid i think im up around 10-12k this month whcih is solid. I am eager to play the 200 guarantee wsop package tourney this weekend and maybe take down another wsop package.

Well, after several months of playin poker I have finally decided to reward myself with a car. I found the perfect car but, not really sure if i want it now or in 3 weeks when im back from vegas. The car is a Lexus SI 2006 all the perks black on black. This will be my first real big use of poker winnings.

On the poker side of things I took yesterday off for the most part. I did end up going to the casino to try and get comfortable at a live table but, that didn't work. I found myself getting pissed at a older mexican guy who wouldnt quit whinning about bad beats this was a limit holdem game. I then felt it necessary to play practically every pot he was in with ATC's just cause i wanted to bust him and sure enough i get 27 and take down a 400 buck pot vs him. He starts yelling at me calling me a donkey blah blah blah. Security has to come and settle things down but, still the guy wouldnt stop talking shit so I then decided to challenge him to a 500-2k hu match but, he sadly declined. Live play was very boring and unfun but, I think I gained a little comfort at the tables. I am planning on playing another live session but, a more serious nl cash game hopefully before I leave for the WOSP.

Online I have been doing very well lately with the exception of yesterday I broke even only played around 10 games early in morning. This week I am up 5k already so I am happy with the week so far. I have decided to raise my volume some and hope to have a great weekend. My goal for the weekend is 5k which is realistic but, difficult.

Recently, I have been looking at my game for leaks and have found two critical leaks the first being bluffing agianst donkies. This has been a large problem for me I play mainly by instincts and lately I cant stop getting called over and over by mid pair vs a donkey. This is a huge critical error on my part not knowing my opponent well enough to know if he will fold or not. I have decided to work on this the most over the next couple of weeks. Another leak i have found is my end game constantly over the past 3 months I have lost soooooo many games when i get my opponent under 300 chips. I am going to try and be more patient and wait for decent oppurtunities reather then run 710 into JJ, QQ,KK to double them up.

Quality weak schools out, reached over 100k on sharkscope, and working out regularly now. Lately, I have been looking to make a lot of healthy strives in my life (eating right, not smoking as much, and working out) hopefully these will all help me excel more at poker. Since school has let out im up 3k in two days which is pretty solid considering ive only played 20ish games.

Tomorrow im gonna play my 2nd live tourney ever. It is a live 165 tourney that I have played before I got 6th for 600 bucks but, this time im gonna get first. I am gonna get hyper aggresive thorughout the whole tourney hoping not to run into any high premium hands. This will also let me prep for the wsop.

I am also working on switching up my sleeping patterns to a much later approach since school is out and action in the morning blow. I am trying to get it so I am sleeping from 4-5am to 1-2. This will definitely benefit my profits because I will have more action during the day. I am going to work on poker soley throughout the summer and try and pull in some nice results in mtts and satelites as well as live action.

Obviously, last post said I would be lowering my stakes that didn't happen because I lack every kind of self control but, on the bright note ive won won 3k so far this week which helps put the last 2 week downswing out of my mind. This month really was pretty pitiful mainly cause half the month was running bad. I am really looking forward to vegas in two weeks and hopefully I dont get die of intoxication at any point in the trip.

Moving Down

Well, lately I have been having some troubles with poker only up 1k in last 8 days =( but, that will all change cause I decided to move back down to 200-300 this will give me more stability. The main reason that the last 8 days have been so horrible is constant mess ups by myself (High Stakes Hu Cash). I am gonna try and grind anywhere form 20-40 games a day and hopefully pull 1k+ like i did last month.

On the good side of things I booked my ticket to Vegas today. Still not sure if any of freinds are coming down. School is wrapping up next week and I look to get life back on track with not getting intoixcated as much and working out regularly. This will be difficult but, it must be done to maximize profit.

Well, I have decided to really buckle down and budget my playing. The main reasons for this is pretty much I constantly get screwed all day in anything except hu sngs. I am no longer going to play hu cash games at any stakes, 9 man sngs at any stakes, wsop 33r's, and any tourney outside of sunday majors. This should help yeiled me 10-20k by the end of the year so hopefully i can stick to it.

As for Hu's this week has been awful I am down 1k this is mainly due to cash game loses and a horrific -5k monday from non-stop suckouts. I am going to work on hopefully turning a small profit by the end of the week.

Lately poker has been meh. Over the month I have played lots of mtts and events but, cant seem to avoid suckouts deep which has hurt my profit this month. I think overall I am around 8-12k this month which is fine with school begining to wind down and all. Last week I played the FTOP Hu event but, played my D-F game due to there horrific software, busted in a 100k pot AQ vs QJ pre in the million then busted in round 3 in hu event for 5th consecutive week.

Over the next month I am going to look for someone to stake me in satelites the 33r and 215 ds to the wsop. This will hopefully turn a decent profit for us both because its just a matter of time till I win another package the suckouts at final tables will end eventually.

Today, was pretty crappy lost to handful of donkies cause of them turning or rivering cards and me not able to drop top pair at times and a couple suckouts. 400 down which isnt that bad but, negative days piss me off in general.

This month has started off very well. This week im up around 9k this is mainly because 500s running normal and not non-stop bad beats. Right now im almost Supernova and on pace for around 300k fpps. Next year I am going to grind 16 table 50 buck 9mans for fpps and try and hit elite w/ hus obviousl. Last night I played 2 tournies out of bordem went deep in both was 50 out of the money in a 55k guarantee and was chip leader 3 bad beats nad 10 mins later im knocked out.

This month im trying to incorporate 500s normally so I can mentally prepare myself for the swings. I am planning on playing some majors tomorow hopefully make it farther then a hour in (highly unlikely) and then some wsop satelites. Im hoping to finish the week strong with a 1k+ day and a 10k week which would be my first except the wsop package I won earlier this year. This week also put me over 70k for the year and on pace for 200k+. Updates to come

Well, things are starting to improve with a 3.4k week so far. This was helped by a 1k win and several 500's. These wins at higher stakes helps give me more confidence that my 500+ running bad streak is over. The main reason why last week went so bad was constantly getting the player below 300 chips and losing in $500 games. My goals for May are to make 25k profit, play many wsop satelites, and cash in a major. I currently have 4 weeks left of school which i cant wait to finish. Once school is out I am going to be playing more live tournies and cash games.

April is starting to wind down and i have cooled off. The first 2 1/2 weeks i was getting 1k+ but, this week has been pretty bruital with only a 1.5k profit so far. Overall this year I am way ahead of my target goal of 100k. Right now I am 65k+ this year so hopefully if I step it up ill get over 200k by the end of the year. Ive made a few more wsop final tables but no packages. I am hoping by the end of the month to get near 70k profit which would be nice. Lately I have tried to move up to 500s but, every game is struggle of bad beats and card dead situation. My last 11 out of 12 500s have been get them to 300 chips they start pushing everyhand go card dead and get sucked out then eventually lose.

Aight heres the update in last 3 weeks.

Week 1- Worst week this year nothing held up or even came close to holding up. Ended the week down 2k mainly because i was dumb playin 5/10 cash games. Did make several wsop final tables tho but, no package =(
Week 2- Solid week 5k profit made some mroe wsop final tables no packages but, overall good week
Week3 (Current week)- best week so far in awhile up around 5.5k. Played some live cash games made about 500. Im starting to play more tourneys and 9 man sngs just for fun while still playin some hus. Only 1 wsop final table 7th i suck

Next couple of weeks hopefully turning 5k a week and take down some of these wsop packages and get a final table on a regular tourney.

aight well heres the update I took a week off early march to relax and keep my mine off poker after a streaky week of up 10k then only up 2k. So far this week has been great im up around 1.5k on hus, 1.1k on satelites, and I won the 33r for a WSOP seat so that a solid 15k week. That puts me at around 40k this years which is definitley on my way to 100k.

This week so far has been great ive been able to take advantage of some good high stakes games. My volume this week has been incredible probably 10 games due to school but, I have still turned about 4k. I hope this is the beginning of a great week 10k+ we can only hope. This week was horrific but, the weekend was good. Mon-thur i think i only made about 200 bucks but, still got a ton of fpps. Then friday-sunday I made 3.7k which is very solid. This month im gonna go over 20k which is awesome. This upcoming week there will be less playing cause of a final and a project due but, im still hoping to get 4k+ week.

This is a quick update over the last week ive been having a little troube. I was down mon-friday by around 2.5 but, had a great friday night (4k) and made little bit saturday (600). The profits for this week are 2k this means that my monthly total profit is already at 12k which is very good for me. Updates to come

This weekend has been pretty solid profit wise but, overall im not running that well. Yesterday was probably the toughest day in a week or two. I couldnt seem to win a hand or see any remotely good cards. In the end i actually made a profit of 250 bucks luckily to a 5 game win streak to end the night. Today has been a lot better i think im 7/8 with a profit of 1.5k which is solid. Totals below for today.

Last two days have been good. Yesterday I spent majority of the day studying for an exam but, still pulled out 550 profit on winning. Today was even more profitable pulling out 1.8k. This is a great start to the month considering im about half way to my goal already with 5k profit this month. Here are the games i play in the last 2 days. Another plus is for the first time im ranking in the HU 100-300 leaderboard which is cool i guess.

January went pretty well I had a profit of 6k. I only played about 1/2 the month. I have determined my biggest leak is letting players come back over and over in late stages. So far in feburary everything is going well. I have got my sharkscope profit up to 20k. This month i am up 2.1k. My goal for this month is to make 7.5k. This seems very possible after the good start to the month.

i havent updated the blog for awhile due to school starting back up. Recently i havent been playin as much as i would liek too. After my huge downswing a couple weeks back i have started to play lower limits and grind some. Currently my shark scope is at 13k my goal for this month january is to make 5k this seems very realistic and shouldnt be a problem.

Recently ive had a turning point. I had a horrible point where i lost around 10k in a single day this really went into my head that I was playing way to high of stakes. I won so much money in such a short period of time that I feel I must learn the most stable and secure way. I have now turned to grinding 3 hu tables at 50 and 100 stakes. After this horrible day i still lost 2-3k the following 2 days but, i turned it all around making 3k (Grinding) the last 3 days. I obviously hate losing that kind of money but, it really has taught me a lot.

Yesterday was a very rough day. I had problems with one particular opponent Elky who may have sucked me out 40%-50% of our games. This caused me to lose around 3.3k but, i found a way to come back and make a profit of 1.4k for the day. I played one of my very few tourneys the 22r where i got 16th running KK into AA preflop.

Today I only played around 2-3 hrs and was a standard successful day. My profit is 1600 this was contributed by a 1k win and 500 win and some 50's. I am not planning on playing anymore today because, im going car shopping possibly getting a Cadillac CTS.

Today was a really harsh day with little success this was because of bad play and suckouts. This has been my hardest aspect to improve getting angry at suckouts. I played majority of the day and still turned a profit even with all the miscues and suckouts. I believe im up 400 dollars today which is horrible but, it better then down 3k which was the occurance at one point. I am hoping that today will help me adjust to downswings in the future.

Edit: Aight I luckily played solid poker later on tonight. My final days profit is 3.7k which is now the most ive accomplished in one day.

Today was probably my best day of profits. Today's profits were around 2.3k. I am very pleased that I was able to gain such a profit while only playing a few hours. This is a great begining for december. I am already up around 4.5k this month which makes my goal of 10k seems easily in reach. Updates to come.

My name is Kyle I am a 21 year old student. Recently I started playing poker seriously and created this blog to hopefully create achievable goals for myself. Ive started with $1,500 which ive worked up to $15,000 in the past month and a half playing heads up matches. My first goal for this month (December) is to achieve 10,000 profit.
